Following a disappointing defeat at the hands of Finn Harp’s last week, Athlone will be hoping to claim all three points as they welcome Bray Wanderers to Athlone Town Stadium.
Tonight’s opponents, currently sitting in third place, have seen a recent upheaval in form in the past week, with victories over Cobh Ramblers (2-1) and UCD (1-0). The sides met recently in the Leinster Senior Cup, which resulted in a 1-1 draw.
What do you need to know?
There is an air of anticipation surrounding Athlone, as the potential of the players is evident with some strong showings this season. Dylan Hand has displayed consistency throughout the campaign, with a number of his team mates lacking a similar edge week on week.
Last week’s defeat to Finn Harps saw some fluid football, possession based football at times, which proved fruitful to breaking down a well-drilled Harps side, unfortunately, the deadlock could not be broken.
With Gideon Tetteh back from injury this week, it bolsters Dario’s attacking options against a strong Bray side. Three points tonight could see us climb into the play-off places, as Bray are sure to have similar ambitions for the season.

Dan Mckenna and Oisin Duffy remain sidelined through injury while Dean Williams sat out of training midweek and remains a doubt. Gideon Tetteh returns from injury and should be fit to feature at the weekend.
Key Players to Watch
Declan McDaid possesses an abundance of pace and skill, capable of unlocking any defence. The Scotsman has one goal this season and will be hopeful he can get in behind the Bray defence tonight and add to his scoring tally.
Calum Costello is also a tricky winger who contains a similar skillset to McDaid. The 18-year-old, on loan from Waterford, also has one goal this season and has provided dangerous chances for his team as they continue their promotion push.
